The idea behind Probefahrt-Touristen
Dealers offer test drives for new cars. Private sellers expect immediate commitment. The result: anyone buying a used car outside of a dealer network ends up in awkward situations when they just want to see if the car is even suitable for them. Probefahrt-Touristen aims to fill this gap.
Private owners can list their car to host an accompanied test drive for anyone interested in a car. Guests browse real cars, contact owners directly, and drive before they decide to buy a car. Owners are not required to have selling intent, they might just make a little extra money on the side and exchange with other car enthusiasts.
The focus is on cars that are no longer available through official dealer channels: discontinued trims, past generations, youngtimers and enthusiast models that only exist on the private market now.
